Aromatherapy Of The Goddess VIII

By, Pamela J. Leavey

Massage Therapy is a great tool for Aromatherapy. Not only can the Essential Oils used in Massage Oils stimulate and heal, but the Carrier Oils used can be an awesome source of nutrients for the skin. Over the past few months a neighbor and dear friend has been studying Massage Therapy. I have reaped the benefits of his schooling, and he the benefits of using my products. I have found that a weekly massage can be not only healing for the body, but also healing for the mind and soul.

Massage Therapy has been used for centuries for both healing and relaxation. The Egyptians, the Greeks and the Romans were all big proponents of it’s benefits. The ancient cultures used Massage Oils that contained Essential Oils. Long before someone came along and invented body lotion, Vegetable Oils were used to keep the skin soft, smooth and supple. Cleopatra was know to have beautiful skin and she regularly used Essential Oils and Vegetable Oils to keep her skin soft.

There are many Vegetable Oils that provide optimal skin care benefits. I use a blend of Safflower and Grapeseed Oils in my Massage Oils and Bath & Body Oils. I also add a touch of Glycerin to my Bath & Body Oils, for added skin care benefits. Hemp has become popular recently for skin care products and it provides many nutrients. Apricot Kernel, Evening Primrose, Avocado, Camellia, Kukui Nut, and Passion Fruit Seed Oils are also all very good carriers oils for both Massage and Skin Care.

Essential Oils provide a multitude of skin care and healing qualities to Massage Oils. For mild muscle pain Lavendar and Rosemary are superb. For deeper pain, a combination of Lavendar and Rosemary mixed with Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Tea Tree will provide an awesome warming effect that can loosen up tight muscles and relieve pain. Other recommended Essential Oils for pain relief or stress relief are Basil, Clary Sage, Cypress, Thyme and Sage. All of these Essential Oils should be used with caution, they should not be applied directly to the skin (a few drops should be added to a carrier oil), with the exception of Lavendar and Tea Tree Oils.

For relaxation a good Massage Oil is a must. Lavendar (my favorite all around Essential Oil), Rose, Magnolia, Mimosa, Jasmine and Gardenia are all wonderful Essential Oils to use for relaxation. Clary Sage and Geranium invoke the feelings of well being and happiness. A simple Bath & Body Oil using any of the afore mentioned Essential Oils after a bath, before bed will help to facilitate sleep.

Using a Bath & Body Oil on a regular basis, you will notice an improvement in the health and quality of your skin. Whether you use a Bath & Body Oil with a blend of Essential Oils or one Essential Oil, you will see a difference with in a short time. Whenever using a Massage Oil or a Bath & Body Oil allow a few moments for the oil to absorb into your skin so that you will not stain your clothes. Treat your outer self well, you deserve it. You must not only nourish your body within, but also with out. In doing so you will also nourish your heart, mind and soul.

As always, I remind you, To “Be In The Moment... Go With The Flow.”
Bright Blessings,
Lady Pamela
